High Training School (SAF) of the “La Venaria Reale” Conservation and Restoration Center is organizing the event From Imaging to Punctual Techniques. School of UV-Vis-NIR Spectroscopy, Multiband, and Hyperspectral Imaging for Applications in Cultural Heritage, available online from 21 to 24 September 2021.
Through lectures, the theoretical principles on which the most common multiband imaging techniques and the corresponding point spectroscopies are based will be retraced, highlighting their similarities and illustrating their potential and limits of application in cultural heritage.
Through interactive laboratories the methods for the acquisition, processing, and correct interpretation of data will be described, identifying standard procedures and reference databases.
Underlining the advantages of integrating different analytical techniques, and through a broad overview of case studies, hyperspectral techniques and procedures for the statistical treatment of image data, recently applied in the field of conservation and restoration, will be introduced.
